Nata decided to leave her country in search of professional and personal growth. Initially, he planned to stay in New Zealand for a short period, but circumstances and his plans changed.
In this process, he began a period of self-discovery where he found a strong capacity for adaptation.
The experience of being exposed to different cultural environments broadens our life options and leads us to consider new possibilities that we did not imagine before. As we open our minds to acquire and accept new customs, we are enriched and transformed as individuals. Multiculturalism becomes an integral part of our worldview.
Adaptability has been fundamental in my life, since it allowed me to make a professional career change and transfer the skills that I had acquired as a lawyer in Colombia. I embarked on a completely different project, where the set of skills that I have developed throughout all the changes I have experienced is valued, giving me stability, security and satisfaction in each step I have taken.
Why did I decide to travel to New Zealand?

My experience in New Zealand has been fascinating in every way. Not only have I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the language, but I have also been lucky enough to learn about new customs and traditions that have broadened my perspective on
the world. Every day is an adventure full of learning and personal growth.
New Zealand's natural environment is simply stunning. From majestic mountains to lush forests and beautiful beaches, this country offers landscapes that seem like something out of a fairy tale. Every corner of this land inspires and rejuvenates the spirit, providing a perfect environment for study and
reflection.
Also, the warmth and hospitality of the New Zealanders has left me speechless. His kindness and willingness to help have made me feel at home from day one. I have had the opportunity to meet people from various cultures and make meaningful connections that are sure to last a lifetime.
Without a doubt, I have faced obstacles of various kinds on my way. The learning curve accelerates the process and teaches us that each day and each opportunity are decisive. However, loneliness and frustration at the lack of progress at the expected times are factors that can weaken anyone's spirit.
Despite all of the above, discovering that I am not the only person going through this process beautifies the experience and facilitates a deep connection with others, especially those who share my culture. The empathy intensifies and the camaraderie creates networks that provide unwavering support in all aspects, which has helped me keep my resolve intact, whether through practical advice or words of encouragement. Each gesture has been a reminder that I am not alone in this journey.

It is truly challenging to come to call an environment other than the one we know 'home', but giving ourselves the opportunity to explore our capabilities and aspire to something new and better heightens our personal satisfaction and fosters our growth. My experience in New Zealand has awakened in me a greater awareness of what it means to be Latina, of the roots of my country and of our capabilities. This beautiful country offers many opportunities to build a future or embark on new adventures.
