"We came for a master's degree, we fell in love and we don't want to go back"
In 2017, Daniel's life was very different. I lived well in Monterrey Mexico, a big city, with many things to do. But life became routine, the traffic did not allow him to do many activities or to enjoy the family.
Like any adaptation process, it is not easy. There are many challenges, but it is worth doing
Why did I decide to travel to New Zealand?
My wife and I thought about New Zealand as an option for a change of scenery. I decided to enroll in a master's degree in energy at the University of Auckland and we got a scholarship from Mexico.
My experience about culture and career opportunities
I always had the support of several friends who accompanied us in this process. People who supported us professionally and personally. Once we completed the master's degree, with the “Post Study” Visa, it has been a challenge to adapt to the New Zealand work environment. Which is demanding and different from the work environment in Latin America.

If you want a place with a life closer to nature, with beautiful landscapes, with many opportunities to take advantage of time and family, give yourself the opportunity to get to know New Zealand, it is a very different place from what we are used to.
